Joanne was born in Kent in 1968. She spent 23yrs as a qualified nurse before following her passion and studying a part-time fine art degree at Canterbury UCA. Nursing and art have often run parallel to each other. Joanne now works in her Sutton Valence studio and often, but not always, makes work relating to the human condition and health. She has exhibited in London, being selected for several open competitions including Threadneedle 2012, Shape Open, 2015 and Royal Society of British Artists, 2017. Joanne taught weekly general art classes to adults in Staplehurst and since easing of lockdown Joanne has set up classes at her home in Sutton Valence.
